Ore Yèyé O — 5 Years of Global Rhythm with ÌFÉ
A jam session turned soulful single. 5 years ago, Aron Ottignon and ÌFÉ came together to create Ore Yèyé O — a hybrid of live percussion, electronic ritual, and joyful experimentation.

This month marks 5 years since the release of Ore Yèyé O, a deeply personal and joyful collaboration between Aron Ottignon and the groundbreaking electronic percussionist ÌFÉ (aka Otura Mun).
🎶 The Session
This was the last session recorded under Blue Note — and ultimately, they didn’t want to release it. So I left the label and put the track out myself.
What started as a freeform jam session with ÌFÉ evolved into something layered and spiritual. We built the track live, then overdubbed vocals and added textures in post — holding on to the groove and feel of the original take.
“I loved making this track. It felt alive. I hope it gets a few more listens in the future.”
🌐 About ÌFÉ
ÌFÉ is the moniker of New Orleans-based producer and percussionist Otura Mun — a revolutionary force in Afro-Caribbean music.
Blending Yoruba religious chants, Afro-Cuban folklore, and bass-heavy electronic sounds, ÌFÉ has reimagined what live electronic music can be.
No DJs. No sequencing. Pure percussion, coded live.
“The genre-crushing group ÌFÉ is a revelation.” – The New York Times
“Future-forward electronic ritual.” – NPR
